Events Description
A traveling caravan of Witches, Wizards and Warlocks has invaded the Assiniboine Park Zoo! Beware… this is no ordinary fair! Through stories and tales of old see what adventures are to behold.
Boo at the Zoo has been reimagined!
A journey through the Zoo takes you on a mystical adventure complete with a fair and spooky and magical characters.
Journey through the Mystical Fair!
Mystical Midway
Location: Upon entry into the Zoo
Rides and games including a classic carousel, ferris wheel, and giant slide will welcome you to the Mystical Fair. Then, travel through the fun house into another realm.
Merlin’s Den
Location: Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden
Welcome to the magical den of Merlin, who has delicious and unique treats! Wander through a brightly lit tunnel filled with creepy crawly creatures. Listen closely to learn about the story of Winter.
Fairy Graveyard
Location: Near Toucan Ridge
As you exit the fun house you find yourself in a somber, dark graveyard filled with tombstones. But wait… are those fairie-zombies rising from the earth?
Spider’s Den
Location: West Pathway
Meet Madam Spider, a resident of the dark realm! Gaze upon her and her thick webbing as you continue along on your journey.
Pumpkin Patch
Location: West Pathway
At the haunted pumpkin patch you’ll be greeted by a handsome skeleton farmer and our pumpkin overlord.
Devil’s Cross Roads
Location: McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre
This hub of entertainment will feature a house band and colourful characters and entertainers. Kick back, enjoy a refreshing beverage, and enjoy the show!
A Giant’s Tale
Location: Journey to Churchill – outside Tundra Grill
Enjoy roaming performers including fire dancers, jugglers, and cosplayers. Pop into Tundra Grill for a bite to eat!
Riddle Maze
Location: Journey to Churchill – South Pathway
Is someone watching you? Eyes glow around you as you make your way down a sinister one-way path. It’s almost like someone doesn’t want you to leave.
The Hallows
Location: East Pathway
Journey into the hallows, but be warned, this haunted place doesn’t allow you to pass through easily. It’s dark with ghostly trees, broken down rides, and spooky characters.
Tunnel Home
Location: Near Toucan Ridge
You’ve almost escaped! This is your final stop as you exit out of the underworld of our Mystical Fair and back to into reality.
Food and Beverage
Food and beverages will be available to purchase throughout Boo at the Zoo!
- A Candy Cart is located in the Mystical Midway, offering a variety of treats including candy, candy apples, cotton candy, and more.
- Located between the Fairy Graveyard and Merlin’s Den is Winston’s where you can find mini donuts and hot and cold beverages.
- Tundra Grill will be open and offering full-service meals, snacks, and hot and cold beverages.
- A full-service bar, as well as a food station, is located at the McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre. Food offerings include pulled pork on a bun, veggie chili, pretzels, and more!
- Additional beverage stations are located near the front entrance and the Hallows. Both offer hot and cold beverages.
- All locations that serve beverages are licensed to serve alcohol.
Who is it for?
Boo at the Zoo is a family-friendly event, however, some elements may be frightening for younger children. Live character performances will be tailored to be age-appropriate as much as possible.
Manitoba Public Health Requirements – COVID-19
- All guests aged 12 and older must be fully vaccinated and show valid proof of vaccination to attend Boo at the Zoo. Adults must also present photo ID.
- Children aged 11 and under who are not eligible to be immunized may attend when accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult with valid proof of vaccination.
- Masks are mandatory in all indoor spaces, including the Zoo entrance and washrooms. Masks are recommended outdoors when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Note: Boo at the Zoo will proceed rain, snow, or shine. The Zoo will only be closed in the case of extreme weather. Notices regarding Zoo closures will be posted here by 2:00 p.m.

Tickets:
Tickets on sale Thursday, September 9
Cost (all ages 3+): $12.75 + GST.
Children 2 and under are free. Please add a $0 infant ticket to your cart for each child aged 2 and under.
How to get tickets?
Tickets are date and time specific.
Tickets must be purchased in advance either online or at the Zoo entrance.

You must enter the Zoo within the 30 minute time frame indicated on your ticket. Final entry is at 9:00 p.m.
